Lee Walburn, a member of the Advisory Council of the Reece Society, has written a timely and provocative article about Byron Herbert Reece and the Reece Society which appears in the March issue of Atlanta magazine bearing the title, "The Poet and the Plowman." In his Lee Walburn's Georgia column, Lee, a former editor of Atlanta magazine, reflects meaningfully on Reece's tragic background and suggests in the article's subhead, "The Byron Herbert Reece Society wants others to hear its beloved mountain writer's rhythmic whispers of his tragic past." This article is exceptional in its grasp of the challenge facing our Society as we seek to fulfill our stated mission. The March issue of Atlanta is now available for purchase. We commend Lee's article to our membership and other interested parties. |
